My answers to Linda and Kris
How long ago did you realize your passion is travelling and how?
Well, there’s not a particular time. When I was a child, I used to travel with my parents and I’ve always been curious to discover new places.
If you could have only one thing while travelling, only one, what would it be?
For sure, I need my camera. I know that every moment remains in your heart and in your mind but I prefer to have it also in my photographs.
Do you prefer warm climates and beaches or cold climates and mountains?
Living in Sicily, I’m used to stand the heat, so I usually prefer warm climates. But, in general, I can easily adapt to different situations.
What is one thing that scares you about travelling? What makes you at unease sometimes?
Probably, the thing that scares me more is to think that I forgot something important at home when I’m starting my journey or at the hotel when I’m going back home.
Where do you get your travel inspiration from? Instagram, blogs, Pinterest? How do you find them?
I love to watch travel documentaries on Tv, but I also have inspiration reading blogs and magazines and watching pictures on Instagram.
Do you ever get homesick? When does the feeling usually hit?
I usually travel for short periods so I try to enjoy my journey. It only happened when I spent one year far from my home.
What is the single best thing about travelling? ONLY ONE!
For me, the best thing about travelling is the feeling that you are going live new experiences outside of your comfort zone.
Are you a natural person or a city dweller? Do you enjoy architecture and cafes or lush greenery?
Undoubtly, I like both. For example in Japan I visited great parks and great cities. But, if I have to choose, I prefer gardens, trees, animals and nature.
What is the most ridiculous and funny thing that has happened to you on the road?
Not so funny, but at this moment I remember that time when I was crossing the river through the canyon of Sumidero in Mexico, when suddendly the boat’s motor broke and I with other people remained in the middle of the river with crocodiles waiting for another boat to rescue us.
Which country would you say have the happiest, kindest, most welcoming people?
For sure, my Sicily! I’m biased.
On the spot, right now. What would be your ideal travel route for 12 months on a low budget?
I’d like to visit South America by car or motorbike. It would be a dream.
